5.2 Conducting a WHOIS Lookup
A Domain WHOIS search allows a researcher to look up who has registered a given domain. It literally means “who is” behind that domain.

Now that you know the connection between a domain name and WHOIS data, try a domain name lookup yourself. Access the website: https://ca.godaddy.com/whois and attempt a WHOIS lookup on any domain of your choice. Remember some data may be privatized or redacted but you should still be able to observe when the domain was first registered, when it expires; and when its registration was last updated.
