HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the primary language for structuring a webpage. It comprises various elements that outline the content and organization of the webpage.

Saving HTML versions of web pages is useful if a researcher wishes to examine the page further after their initial review. Saving the HTML version of a page also allows the researcher to examine the page’s source code later.

To save an HTML version of a web page in Chrome, Open the Webpage and then:

  1. Right-click somewhere on the page.
  2. From the menu select “Save As”.
  3. Choose where you want to save the file on your computer in the dialogue box that appears.
  4. In the “Save as type” dropdown, select “Webpage, Complete” to save the HTML file along with its associated resources (like images and stylesheets), or “Webpage, HTML Only” to save just the HTML file without the additional resources.
  5. Click “Save”.

After this procedure, you will be able to read the page offline.
